I have been sick as a dog for a week and a half, rousing myself from bed only to nap on the couch for a change of pace. It's been miserable and boring, a mix of hulu's greatest hits and a desperate scan for anything viable to watch on daytime network television (as punkybrister69 so often notes, the Southern gothic is alive and well on the Springer-Povich-Lake circuit).

My friend Scornwell tipped me off to project Kitten Infinity. She's been fostering kittens for a maine coon rescue group for six months now to great success. Check it out: you get a piping fresh hot kitten, you enjoy the kitten antics and the kitten sweetness, and then they get adopted before they're big and stupid (I love my big stupids but I don't need any more, thank you very much). Hodge and I got our first foster kitten right before I got terribly ill. Then it turned out kitty had an upper respiratory infection so we have been pathetic snot bombs together all week. Ask me how much I love cramming a syringe of antibiotics down a squirmy kitten throat when I myself feel like I'm about to fall over?

But he's a sweetie. Hodge took this before the kitten erupted into a mucous explosion:

Oh my goodness, what a cutie! How do your two big stupids react to having the little kitty around?

The big stupids so far haven't encountered him much...he's in isolation in my office. We'll see how things play out once he's not contagious anymore...
