bereft

I just accidentally ran out of Veronica Mars. I thought I had a whole disc to go but it turns out the last disc is all "special features." You know what special feature I would have really liked? ANOTHER FOUR EPISODES OF VERONICA MARS. Now what am I supposed to do? Write my paper?

The worst part about falling in love with canceled shows is, well, they're canceled. No matter how hard you hope, there will never be another episode of Firefly, or of Freaks and Geeks, or of Veronica Mars. If I ever become a multi-millionaire (I know we're all holding our breath on that one) I'm going to start a network for niche shows that are astoundingly good but that don't pull in bottom-line ratings. Then the rest of the world can enjoy O.N.A.N. Idol or Incest Dancers or whatever the hell they want to watch and those of us with IQs higher than the average can of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti with Meatballs can enjoy some quality programming.

I have suffered the tragedy of the cancelled series on too many occasions: Firefly, Carnivale, Dead Like Me, Veronica Mars. . .

It's enough to make a girl cry.

On a completely unrelated note, what is your icon? She's like a human-bird-clawed Pre-Raphaelite inspired vision.

Actually, a thumbnail excerpt from Arthur Rackham's Alice in Wonderland pictures. This one is from the part where she meets all the animals (http://www.exit109.com/~dnn/alice/rackham/rack2.jpg). The claw is a mouse's claw, perched behind her. But now that you mention it, I really like that it looks like it belongs to Alice...

Well, that explains why I was drawn to it. I love Arthur Rackham. Yes, it does look like Alice is the one with the claw and she also seems to be flying. I'm sure this is not what Rackam had in mind :)

Clearly, the spirit of Veronica Mars supports your paper writing with her TV land mojo. She's left you because she knows... you don't need her anymore.

Well. I guess I got two pages written yesterday. But I really think a nice reward for two pages of writing would have been an episode of VM. Instead all I had was an ice cream sandwich. The other nice thing about VM is that it doesn't make you fat.

Spoiler Alert

I've put off watching the last few episodes of Veronica Mars because when they're over, it's over. Please don't tell me how it ends. Maybe like, Firefly, they'll make a movie and kill everyone you care about. Unless they did that in the show.
Don't tell me.

I hate to tell you, but the Reavers do show up. Poor old Weevil never stood a chance.

Zing!

Good luck with the paper--I just finished my last one yesterday.

Man, every page is like shitting an oversized brick. I am so very rusty at this process...

Mars was cancelled? Oh man. How didn't I know that?

My day just got a whole lot worse. D:

Boo! I'm sorry.

It was last year. It just didn't get high enough ratings/profits, I guess.

i have never (gasp!) watched a veronica mars (horrified stares from you with a whhhaaaa? look back from me). but i do miss firefly. they keep making rumours that another firefly movie is in the making but so far it's all just empty promises (sigh).

Yeah, Serenity didn't make much money...I'm not sure if they'll follow through with a second or not.

I only started watching Veronica Mars about two months ago myself. I tried getting into it when it was on television but I kept jumping in mid-season, and superficially I was annoyed at how similar to Buffy the dialogue was. But watching from season one on got me really hooked. I recommend it.

and they keep promising an arrested development movie too.
